I just bought a Magnavox 13" Class SDTV TV/DVD Combo, CD130MW9.

It does not have a last channel button. Would a universal remote allow me to have this feature?

I wouldn't count on it. The code may exist and work for the set without being actually present on the remote, but that's such a basic button I'd doubt it (it's not a discrete or anything).

Yeah, it's very likely it doesn't have such a command. But with that said, it is POSSIBLE. It may have been omitted from the remote because they ran out of buttons (and didn't want to go for a more expensive one). But don't count on it.

Reminds me of the Sony OTA HDTV receiver (DHG-HDD250/500). The remote has no previous channel button. Seriously. But the function does exist (follows normal Sony protocol).

Thanks, I am going to try even though it might not work. We have a universal remote that is a few years old but it doesn't list the code for our new TV. If this one doesn't work, would it be worth it to try a newer remote on the market?

I don't want to spend too much, my TV only cost $150. But, I like my TV. I bought it because it is small and the channels change fast unlike a newer flat panel that I bought and returned because it took about 2 seconds between each channel change. I guess that is a topic for another forum!
